Viktor Shatunov

Viktor Shatunov (born 1952) is an artist and illustrator.

He was born in Vilnius and graduated from the Vilnius Art School named after Venožinskis. In 1975 he completed his studies at the Belarusian Academy of Arts in Minsk, majoring in graphic art. He also interned at the Leningrad Academy of Arts in the graphic department, where he studied lithography, etching, woodcut, and linocut.

Since 1978, he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, and since 1991 a member of the Union of Artists of Lithuania. Alongside his work in book graphics, he has also worked in poster design and painting.

From 1990 onward, he has not only illustrated books but also written the texts for his own children’s books. He has received many diplomas at international exhibitions and competitions in book graphics.

In total, Viktor Shatunov has designed around 150 books with a total circulation of more than 20 million copies in countries such as Russia, the USA, Japan, South Africa, Lithuania, Belarus, Yugoslavia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Estonia, Poland, Romania, and Ukraine. His paintings are held in many private collections in countries including Russia, the USA, Israel, Germany, Sweden, and Lithuania.
