Valery Tsikota (1951–2004) was a Leningrad artist and book illustrator.
He studied at the Secondary Art School attached to the Repin Institute of Painting Sculpture and Architecture and graduated successfully from the institute in 1976.
In addition to illustration, he worked in publishing and served as editor-in-chief of several magazines, including Koster, Baryshnya, and Svetlyachok, and also worked with the publishing house BRASK.
Valery Tsikota designed more than 100 books and illustrated over 80 titles published by various publishers. Among them were Detskaya Literatura, Malysh, Murmansk Book Publishing House, Polina, and BRASK in Russia; Veselka in Ukraine; Literatura Artistica and Lumina in Moldova; and Polaris in Latvia.
Many of the books he illustrated received diplomas and awards at book design and illustration competitions.
