Jeanette Winter

Jeanette Winter (born 1939) is an American writer and illustrator, best known for her children’s books.

Jeanette Winter’s signature style, which draws heavily from folk art traditions, is easily recognizable; she uses bright, clean colors and fills flat, volume-less elements with them.

Winter has had a prolific career working on dozens of children’s books, including many books about prominent women in history, including Georgia O’Keeffe, Hildegard of Bingen, and Jane Goodall.

Winter currently lives and works in New York City.
