Sometimes it’s so exciting to spy on your neighbors, looking out the window! In other people’s apartments, incredible things often happen. In Finestre, the main character loves to watch the residents of other apartments. Each has its own story, which, through her rich imagination, turns into a mini-movie: some are fantasy, some romance, and some even horror. Perhaps in reality everything is completely different than it seems from the outside, but that is exactly what makes each story even more intriguing and mysterious. I wonder what people see from my window?

Finestre, the winner of the Silent Book Contest 2024, is a picture book full of details, colors and characters. The illustrations by Lola Svetlova create a striking contrast, and it turns out, that boring gray high-rise buildings are full of love, light, warmth and fun.
