Kasya Denisevich is a Russian-born author and illustrator based in Barcelona.
She studied Comparative Literature at the Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow, translation at the Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators in Trieste, and later illustration and printmaking at Escola Massana in Barcelona and MiMaster in Milan.
Before turning to illustration, Kasya worked with publishing houses and magazines as a translator and editor. She has created illustrations, graphic series, zines, and artist’s books, and has curated Russian and international programs devoted to illustration and book art.
Her picture book Neighbors was selected for the 2017 Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrators Exhibition and later won the BolognaRagazzi Award Opera Prima in 2021. Her work has also been recognized by numerous competitions and festivals, including the CICLA Original Illustration Award (2017), dPictus Unpublished Picturebook Contest (2020), the Caldecott List (2021), and the Russian awards “Жар-книга” (2023) and “Образ книги” (2021, 2023).
