Boris Artsybashev

Boris Mikhailovich Artsybashev (1899–1965) was an American artist, designer, and illustrator of Russian origin. He was the son of the writer Mikhail Artsybashev.

Born in Kharkiv, he emigrated to the United States during the Russian Civil War. In 1919, he began working in an engraving studio in New York, where he started his career as a visual artist. Over the years, Artsybashev created illustrations for more than fifty books, and also worked extensively in advertising, poster design, and magazine cover art, contributing to campaigns for major well-known companies.

Artsybashev became widely known for his striking covers for American magazines such as Life, Fortune, and Time, which brought his work broad public recognition and established him as a distinctive voice in editorial and commercial art.
