Roberto Innocenti (born 1940) is an Italian illustrator widely known for his richly painted, highly detailed works and his commitment to a realistic style. His illustrations for Cinderella, The Adventures of Pinocchio, A Christmas Carol, and The Nutcracker have become iconic and are instantly recognizable to readers around the world.
Innocenti often reimagines classic stories with historical precision and carefully constructed settings, bringing depth and atmosphere to familiar tales. In 2008, he received the Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustration, one of the highest international honors in children’s literature.
