David Christiana (b. 1960) is an American illustrator, writer, and educator known primarily for his work in children’s book illustration.
He has illustrated more than twenty children’s books, and has also written four books of his own. His illustration work spans picture books and literary adaptations, often characterized by detailed compositions and a strong sense of atmosphere.
Christiana is also active in arts education and has taught illustration at the University of Arizona, where he has been involved in mentoring students in visual storytelling and illustration practice.
His work is part of contemporary American children’s book illustration and is recognized for combining narrative clarity with a painterly, illustrative style.
