Boris Zabirokhin

Boris Pavlovich Zabirokhin (born in 1947) is a graphic artist, artist, and illustrator.

He studied at the school at the Tavrichesky Art College, then graduated from the Leningrad Art and Industrial College named after Mukhina. He participated in the work of the Student Scientific Society, where he made his first works in the technique of etching and lithography under the guidance of V.I. Shistko.

Since 1999, he has been the leader of the creative association “Children of Arkhip Kuindzhi”.

Since 1974, he has worked in book graphics, illustrating more than 30 books, including “How Thunder Has Forgotten How to Roar” by S. Nizovsky, “New ABEVEGA of Russian Superstitions” by M. Vlasova, “Russian Demonomaniacs” by N. Leskov, “White Swan. Russian Magic Tales”, “The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish” by A.S. Pushkin and others. He has also created over 100 ex-libris.

Participant and prize-winner of international exhibitions and competitions in England, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Norway, Finland, France, Japan.

Boris Zabirokhin’s works are in the Hermitage, the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, art museums in Bristol, the Vatican, Gabrovo, London, Thessaloniki, Prague and in other museums and private collections in Russia, Europe and the USA.
